Discover The Top 5 Healthy Restaurants in Tokyo

Your diet is a bank account. Good food choices are good investments.

Hi there Stylish Friends,

Japan is known for its image of healthy food and countless options in that section. Personally I found that this is not always the case, so I decided to rank up some of my must eat healthy restaurants in Tokyo. In most cases, healthy equals vegan or vegetarian, but that is not the case so I included a larger variety than just vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Tokyo

While doing research for this list, I realized how many of these shops are mainly aimed at a female or low appetite audience. I have been focusing on gaining weight/mass but staying healthy so this had to be taken into consideration, so here is my list that will both fill you up and stay healthy at the same time!

Crisp Salad Works

Honestly one of my favorite places in general. Salads tend to be quite dull in Japan, because most restaurants just serve salad in the form of some cabbage, a slice of tomato and some sauce, but not Crisp Salad Works. These guys offer a large variety of salads and have the full custom option available too. The volume is enough that you can have a great lunch and feel stuffed when going back to the grind at the office or when working from home.

Urth Caffé

Urth Caffe has been around for more than 30 years and are one of the more famous spots in Daikanyama, right in between Ebisu and Shibuya. They are known for their excellent organic coffee, smoothies and breakfast plates. If you have been in Tokyo for a while you will agree that it is quite hard to find good breakfast places, so definitely a place to write down!

WE ARE THE FARM

@ We are the Farm Ebisu

A restaurant focus on the ‘farm-to-table concept’. They produce their ingredients in Chiba and then directly ship it to their restaurants to make sure you get fresh and organic delicious plates served to you at any time

Suju Dining

@ Suju Marunouchi

A bit more of a fancy Japanese restaurant. This place is great for lunches during workdays as well as dates that impress without disturbing your diet too much. Traditional food with a modern dining feel definitely makes this place a must go. They have several locations but I recommend their location in the Marunouchi area around Tokyo Station.

Afuri Ramen

Kind of an odd one out to put a ramen place in this list, but Afuri is one of those few ramen joints where you can easily go without worrying about your health. They have amazing sets of yuzu ramen as well as vegan ramen. Their seasonal ramen is vegan that changes every season, it does not mean they serve it seasonal!

Afuri is a great place that also has their portions in order. Just right. Usually I feel pretty bloated but after Afuri, I still feel functional!

Of course there are tons of other amazing healthy places in Tokyo. Honestly, the list is endless as Tokyo has one of the most restaurants per city in the world. 137.000 restaurants as of 2020!

I am still developing my list of good and healthy places in Tokyo, let me know your favorites so we can all discover more places. Working towards a healthy lifestyle, without having to sacrifice on taste of volume is important, so let’s keep this positive trend going.
