10 Tokyo Mens Fashion Shops I Wish I Knew About Earlier
Hi there Stylish Friends,
Let's talk about men's fashion – it can be pretty dull, right? Well, most of it, at least. It's easy to stick to the basics and get your entire fit from H&M, Zara, and UNIQLO. Don't get me wrong, those stores are great. But, if you're trying to level up your style, adding some flair might be needed. Personally, I'm all about hunting down stylish pieces that don't break the bank and have that extra touch of uniqueness. Fashion can get wild pretty fast, so finding the right balance between special and not-too-crazy can be quite the challenge.
During my time living in Tokyo, I've managed to stumble upon quite a few shops that nail that sweet spot. I’m really want to share my discoveries with you. So, here's a rundown of 10 shops that I like.
Takeo Kikuchi
Since its inception in 1984 by Takeo Kikuchi, this brand has been all about blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern menswear. They're known for their minimalist designs and impeccable craftsmanship, capturing Tokyo's fusion of cultures. From kimono-inspired collars to symbolic motifs, their pieces embody that fusion of tradition and contemporary style. Watching them grow from a single boutique to multiple locations is proof of their knack for capturing Tokyo's essence – a beautiful mix of heritage and innovation. With each piece, Takeo Kikuchi Tokyo not only shows its sense of style but also embodies the city's vibe in general.
Interestingly enough they do not have their individual website. I wonder what the reason for that is..?

COMME CA COMMUNE
Not to be confused with its more expensive similarly branded Comme des Garçons, Comme ça commune offers traditional Japanese color pallets with modern and easy-to-wear clothes. I like the simple designs that give that bit of extra. Japanese simplicity is famous for a good reason, and it matches so well with their fashion design concepts. Their website could use some work, but their clothes and price range are spot on. Seems to be a trend with Japanese fashion brands not having proper websites. I am genuinely curious why this is the case.

COS
This more premium brand of H&M is often forgotten. COS, short for Collection of Style, brings its signature minimalist and modern vibe to Tokyo. COS curates a collection of timeless clothing that screams simplicity and elegance. Think clean lines, quality materials, and a keen eye for detail – COS pieces epitomize understated luxury. The Tokyo store offers a serene shopping experience, inviting folks to explore versatile essentials and contemporary designs. By fusing Scandinavian sensibilities with Tokyo's urban energy, COS creates a unique shopping haven for those on the hunt for refined, effortlessly stylish pieces.
